Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not retain or log those search terms on our own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We may keep an email sent to us long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the server can collect routine technical information about the visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved on a device. They and analytics services help produce grouped traffic measures, such as popular pages and common exit points. A browser can block cookies, although parts of the site may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a search query to the selected outside service
- Finding and correcting technical faults
- Operating the site and improving load performance
- Measuring which pages are useful to visitors
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. King County record guidance directs visitors to the King County Sheriff's Office, the local courts, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Official government disclosure is governed by the Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552. Public TxDPS conviction and deferred-adjudication information is separately authorized by Government Code Section 411.135. Those laws govern official custodians and do not make this private resource a government record holder.
This resource is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor data is not used to prepare consumer reports or create criminal-record files about third parties.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information entered there is governed by that provider's privacy policy. Each provider controls its retention and sharing rules, so review those terms before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to sheriff, court, state agency, legal aid, or outside search websites. Once a visitor follows such a link, the destination's privacy policy applies. Check it before providing personal details.
Some advertising providers may measure activity across websites to select ads. That processing occurs through their systems.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices protect the information we handle. No internet system is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If such data is identified, a deletion request may be made.
Your Data Rights
When its coverage rules and exemptions apply, the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, Business and Commerce Code Chapter 541, may provide rights concerning personal data. Chapter 17 of the same code supplies separate Texas consumer-protection provisions. Subject to the law and a verified request, you can:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
